Diversity is more than just a buzzword in the advertising and production industries: it's a business necessity for the professionals who are entrusted with the responsibility of communicating with diverse audiences. And while more commercials are depicting a broader scope of gender identity, race and sexual orientation, diversity of the creatives and crews behind the scenes lags behind. Circle was conceived and designed by Forsman & Bodenfors as a tool to address that lack of representation.
A connections platform
Circle was purpose-built to help those who are underrepresented in the industry connect with employers who seek diverse talent. To facilitate the search process, there are filters (roles, categories etc.) that employers can apply to hone thier search. A robust moderation dashboard in the backend of the site helps users flag inappropriate content that moderators can remove in order to maintain a positive, and productive platform experience for everyone.
After soft-launching at the 2018 3% Movement Conference, membership to the platform skyrocketed. But the job won't be complete until both the creative output and behind-the-scenes talent are equally representative of the diversity of our society. Till then, the Circle will continue to grow.
